VXT is proud to offer a full Bi-Xenon Plug & Play conversion service for all DEPO/HELIX OEM HID Style headlights including OEM as well.

If you are currently running or planning on owning a set of aftermarket DEPO/HELIX OEM HID Style headlights or even OEM, you will know how bad the output really is. DEPO/HELIX & OEM HID headlights use a tiny 1.75″ single output halogen/xenon projector that hardly provides any good lighting output. Even installing the best HID bulbs in the market, these tiny projectors will not provide good enough lighting to light up your road at night.

Throughout the years, we have seen retrofitters fitting the Mini H1 projectors into the DEPO/HELIX & OEM HID housings. That’s great and it’s definitely a HUGE upgrade over those tiny projectors these aftermarket and OEM headlights use. However, we are not a big fan of these so-called retrofits due to various reasons. One of the main reasons is that the OEM projector shrouds get replaced by cheap generic shrouds, making these headlights lose that OEM look they deserve. Also, retrofitters glue and cut the housings (pretty much damaging your housings) in order to make the projectors fit. Lastly, they are way too overpriced, especially since you will be losing that OEM look and eventually having damaged reflectors as well. On top of that, you will be brainwashed making you believe you will have a one-of-a-kind setup. Don’t be fooled, just do it the correct way and keep that OEM HID look flowing nicely by giving us the opportunity to convert your headlights to VXT Specs.




We decided to design and build our very own VXT OEM Style shrouds which look and fit just exactly like the OEM shrouds. They were designed specifically to fit the bigger 2.5″ Mini H1 Bi-Xenon projectors.


Four our VXT conversion, we use the popular MINI H1 Bi-Xenon projectors, which offer a much wider and deeper output that deliver a very sharp cutoff line. Its brightness and performance will outperform the 1.75″ projectors.  They can be configured to LHD (Left Hand Drive) or RHD (Right Hand Drive) for those that are from the UK, Australia, or ROW.


To mount the Mini H1 Bi-Xenon Projectors into the reflector, we designed our very own aluminum billet adapter brackets which will mount the projectors perfectly into the reflectors without the need of gluing, cutting or modifying anything.


Our wiring is custom made (10 Pin) which will make the headlight conversion a true 100% plug and play on all US Spec / North American Jetta models.


We offer three different styles/finishes: Chrome, for that OEM Look and style & Black, for that more aggressive sportier look. And last, the all Black with Chrome Projector Shrouds to give that cool accent look. Please know that if you are sending an existing set, and want to keep the chrome finish, make sure the chrome is in good shape. Otherwise we will not be able to re-chrome it. If the Chrome is not in good shape from your existing housings, you must select a “Black” finish.


We will re-use the lenses that are originally installed on your headlights. We can provide brand new plastic lenses as well at an additional cost ($45). Unfortunately, we do not have any glass lenses at this moment, however, if you have a set of glass lenses, you can send them to us to install “free of charge” to your order.

Please be aware that HOUSINGS ARE NOT INCLUDED: We are just offering  the conversion/service only. Customer will need to provide their own (DEPO or HELIX) headlight housings. If you do not have any headlight housings, we can provide brand new housings for an additional $325. If you have GENUINE OEM HID housings, please contact us before, as there is an additional fee to work on these particular headlights.


Now that you are aware of the parts and components we offer with our conversion, please let us walk you and explain the process of what the VXT service/conversion/labor consists of:

  • We first start by opening the OEM HID Style headlight housings.
  • Internal parts and reflectors are then removed.
  • The tiny 1.75″ projectors are then replaced by a set of 2.5″ Mini H1 Bi-XENON Projectors which will mount using our very own billet adapter mounts.
  • Wiring harness is custom made making these headlights 100% plug and play.
  • Housings then go through some cleaning and prep work while everything else is removed.
  • Rear covers are modified to clear the bigger projectors.
  • Once Bi-Xenon projectors are mounted, we then adjust and calibrate the cutoff making sure all the optics are well aligned and adjusted for the road.
  • Custom VXT Shrouds are then installed, and all other components are put back in place.
  • Brand new OEM grade butyl is then installed which will provide a good seal for the headlight lenses.


The following components will be included free of charge with our conversion:


Morimoto XB H1 Bulbs: When it comes to HID bulbs, Morimoto has always brought us the best in the aftermarket, and their latest examples are no exception. Sure, we think the options from Philips and Osram are great too, but when it comes to bang for the buck – nothing compares to the Morimoto XB HID lineup. Compatible with 35W: The XB’s will produce more lumens, last longer, project farther, and look better doing it. At the heart of the XB H1 bulbs is their perfectly aligned 100% Philips quartz glass that houses a capsule from APL-USA. Using high quality halide salts from German-supplier Messer, the bulbs produce nearly the same lumin Osity (intensity) as the amazing Osram CBI bulbs at 5500K. No, you’re not seeing things here, but yes you will be seeing everything at night. In our comparison to the big brands, Morimoto’s XB capsule ran with the best of em! The Austrian-sourced Plansee electrodes help keep the bulbs running brighter for longer. In comparison to a Philips bulb with 200 hours of use, the Morimoto will maintain 83% of its intensity whereas the Philips bulb will retain 86%. Yeah, the Philips maintains a little longer, but this kind of longevity is unheard of in the aftermarket. We’re impressed!

VOLX 35w Standard Generic Ballasts: Looking for a compact ballast to fit inside your headlight or easily hide it under your engine bay? Look no further. Our VXT ballast is a very small/compact, yet strong ballast that will fit inside mid to large headlights. Compatible with all standard amp connector style HID bulbs.

HD HID RELAY HARNESS (Optional, but Highly Recommended): $35 (Discounted Price)

To make sure your ballasts are getting the correct power and at the same time protect them, we now include with every order a set of Relay Harness kit. Unlike most generic harnesses out there that rely on a single low-quality relay to power both headlights, our relay harness utilizes one relay per side- so if one did happen fail, you would not be left completely in the dark. Each 40A relay is completely sealed against the elements using ribbed silicone upper and lower seals, and has an flywheel diode for back-EMF protection. Every other connection harness-wide is sealed with the proper silicone grommets. Live somewhere with weather that regularly sucks? No problem. Aside from being ahead of the game from a technical standpoint, our relay harness is also a work of art. With its wiring protected by abrasion-resistant Techflex mesh sleeving and OEM-style relay cubes held together by a mounting bracket cut from polished stainless – the HD relay will look factory fresh under the hood!



OEM HID’s including the HELIX/DEPO aftermarket headlights, come from factory with plastic adjusters. With time, these adjusters get dry and brittle which will eventually brake, and the headlights will not be able to adjust any longer. This upgrade is highly recommended, as you will never have to worry about your adjusters ever breaking again. Another cool thing about these adjusters is that they have a knob which will let you adjust the headlight on the spot by using your hand. Adjusters are sold individually. A set of headlights require 4x adjusters in total (2x per headlight), however, you can purchase either 1x or all 4x. If you are ordering less than 4x, please let us know exactly where you want your adjuster/s installed. For example, do you want it on the “up/down” position or on the “left/right” position? This is very important when buying less than 4x adjusters.

MORIMOTO BALLAST UPGRADE – $110 (Discounted price)

When two of the best names in ballasts get together to create something new, good things happen. The new XB is essentially a Hylux + Morimoto mash up, and we are proud to bring their new ballast baby to North America! Designed to last for 2500 hours and we are confident they will. The powerful AS15-G4 IC chip recognizes outside system faults such as a loose high voltage connection, and after one misfire will cut power rather than potentially self-destruct. The software is proprietary to this ballast alone. The die-cast aluminum shell houses a 100% potted circuit board: eliminating any chance of moisture damage. The AMP SuperSeal three-pin connector from TE Connectivity between the igniter and the ballast ensures the safety of this crucial output. Slim 18mm body will mount almost anywhere, and that’s OK because they’re fully sealed from the elements. There are four mounting points cast directly into their shell, no spare brackets to mess with. Like all modern OEM ballasts: the XB has relocated igniters far closer to the HID bulb. The lack of high voltage transmitted through wiring drastically reduces EMI/RFI (radio interference). Total system reliability is also improved by shielding the main circuit board from the static produced by these high voltage bursts on start up. Upgrade is only $110 through us which includes a close to 10% discount rather than buying directly from Morimoto for $121.50.

  1. Purchase the service.
  2. Send your existing OEM HID Style projector headlights to us, or you can buy a brand-new DEPO/HELIX set from us by adding it to your cart.
  3. Once we receive your headlights, it will take us approx. 10 business days to fully convert your headlights to VXT Specs. If you purchase the DEPO/HELIX housings from us, we will then start modifying them and will ship them after the conversion is done, typically 10 days after order is placed.
  4. Once your order is ready, we will then ship your headlights back to you.
